SPACE OPENING JUNE 3, 2007

NEXT PARTY: SPACE OPENING JUNE 3, 2007 Written by Team Space on 20th November, 2006 Just when you thought you'd acclimatised to the northern hemisphere winter, along comes something to remind you of the beloved summer - the Space TV closing party episode. If you suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), we advise you to increase the heat, install sun lamps, don shades, invite the neighbours over for a bikinis'n'speedos party, turn your computer's speakers up to full and press the button below - it's a guaranteed cure! You can almost taste the expectation of the people in the queue, feel the excitement of the djs and hear the sincerity in the voice of Space's owner Pepe Rosello (below). "Space is not a commercial or franchise club," says the genial Ibicenco, "precisely because Ibiza attracts the most distinctive crowd who come here to take part in the unique musical phenomenon that is Ibiza. Here during the summer we have the best djs in the world and the ones that can't come know they miss important promotional opportunities because the world's music cartel is in Ibiza during the summer. "We have openings and closings that are known all over the world. The Space opening marks the opening of the season in Ibiza and the closing of Space marks the closing of the season. "All I can say to all the youth worldwide is that they should come to Ibiza because they really are going to discover something really special. The majority of the public that have been coming to the Space openings and closings know they have lived a unique experience. So we invite you to repeat it all next year. We are waiting for you!"

Manumission - Ibiza Summer 2007

July - September 2007 tbc (Every Mon) Every Monday during the summer season, Manumission takes over Privilege on the San Antonio Road, a venue with room for 10,000 party people, over 20 bars, tropical gardens, shops, restaurants and a swimming pool - a fitting home for the island's most infamous club. Apart from attracting some of the biggest DJs from around the world, the party is best known for its raunchy shenanigans, described by the organisers as "a surreal melting pot of theatre, cabaret and performance". (Don't be surprised by the high nudity factor. If you want more of an insight then check out Manumission the Movie, made in the high summer of 1999. The music policy runs the gamut of house, dance, techno, breakbeat, garage, trance, jungle and fat beats. This season also sees the continuation of the Manumission Carry On at Space on Tuesday mornings, spilling over to Bora Bora for yet more madness into the afternoon. Despite having passed its prime, Manumission is still one of the most famous of all the parties on the most famous of all party islands. The Sunday Times described it as "the biggest weekly party in the world", The Face said it was the "coolest party in the world", and The Observer noted that Manumission was the "most successful club in Europe". The wildest party on Earth or a heaving sweaty, sticky mass? You decide.

Ibiza clubbing for New Year's eve @ Pacha

For the majority of Med hedonists Ibiza 2006 is over and that's terribly sad. But for those that can't wait till May next year when the season starts sizzling again, there's Pacha Ibiza's New Year's Eve special. Again the entire club will open to cater for the demand from the international jet set but somehow it's a more intimate, cosy affair. There's no guarantee the weather will entice you onto the beach but it will certainly not be wintry in the British sense of the word. Especially not with the hot'n'Dirty duo Soul Avengerz on the bill. Paul Gardner and Wayne OConnell do "pure house for true music lovers" and their production and dj schedule demonstrates their popularity. Did you like 'Funky Sensation' featuring Angie Brown? That was them. How about the rerub of Peyton's 'Never Give Up'? Soul Avengerz strike again. Maybe you witnessed Javine singing 'Don't Let The Morning Come' on Pete Tong's Essential Selection live from Mambo Cafe on Radio 1 weekend? The boys can take credit for that too. Their work has been included on compilations from the industry's biggest players - Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Positiva, Soulfuric and more. The Avengerz brought Pacha Ibiza to its feet on June 2 this year before flitting off round the rest of Europe's famous dancefloors. Their much anticipated return, with support from in-house ace Angel Linde, will kick off at 1am on New Year's Day and will continue till 8. Of course if you want to go the cerdo entero, then book a table at the Pacha restaurant for their famous five course New Year's Eve dinner. Club entry: 28 euros - opens 1am - 8am Dinner at the Pacha restaurant featuring five courses of Mediterranean cuisine + club entry: 200 euros VIP table, includes entry for 2 people, private table and one bottle of spirits: 300 euros
